To promote heritage tourism in Hong Kong, the Commissioner for Heritage's Office under the Development Bureau has organised a large-scale roving exhibition entitled "Hong Kong Heritage Tourism Expo - Access Heritage", with the objective of recommending six specially designed heritage tour routes to Hong Kong people and overseas visitors. The exhibition commences on 4 December 2010 at the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre and will then by turns be staged at the Hong Kong International Airport, Sha Tin Town Hall, Tuen Mun Town Hall, Times Square and other government venues and private shopping malls. We have also published a booklet "Notes of a Heritage Visitor" introducing the six tour routes, and copies of the booklet will be distributed free of charge during the exhibition period.
We will show you an extraordinary cultural journey which goes beyond shopping and dining and through which you will get to experience the confluence of Chinese and Western cultures in Hong Kong, visit the numerous historic buildings in the city, each displaying a unique architectural style, and also dig into the wealth of history behind each of these buildings. Are you ready to embark on this colourful, rewarding journey?
